Patients and visitors / Your child as a patient
When your child leaves hospital
If your child is booked as a day case, they will be able to go home following consultant review and if discharge criteria has been met. Your child's consultant and nurse will review their progress and let you know.
The team will also talk to you about ongoing care and any necessary follow-up appointments. The pharmacy will prepare any medicine your child needs.
You can speak to the admissions office before you leave if you have any questions. A member of our billing team will contact you at home with any outstanding charges.
You will be provided with a discharge pack when you leave, which contains information on what to do if you are concerned about your child when you get home.
If the situation is urgent, you should go to your nearest NHS accident and emergency department.
