Memory clinic
The first memory clinic in a private hospital setting.
Our memory clinic sits within the neurosciences unit at Cromwell Hospital.
Led by consultant psychiatrist Dr Justin Sauer and consultant neurologist Dr Angus Kennedy, the clinic aims to uncover why someone is having problems with their memory. The service includes the assessment and diagnosis of dementia and other memory-related conditions.
Dementia testing
Early diagnosis of dementia is important. While the disease cannot be cured, treating it in the early stages can slow down its progression.
What happens at the appointment?
Close members of family are welcome to attend the clinic along with the patient, so that the team can build a good picture of the patient's memory loss.
As part of the investigation, patients are given a range of tests including memory testing, blood tests and brain imaging.
After the results are assessed, we'll put all the information together and reach a conclusion on the cause behind a patient's memory loss.
Support and treatment
The team provide personalised care and the right support for those with dementia or memory problems.
Treatment may include further tests, such as MRI scans, medication and exercises to improve memory and stimulate connections.
Paying for your treatment
We welcome both self-paying and insured patients.

We offer several ways for patients to self-pay, including pay-as-you-go and self-pay packages.
