Professor Asif Raza

Professor Asif Raza is a Consultant Urological Surgeon who graduated in 1991 from Glasgow University Medical School. During his registrar programme in Scotland, he trained in the world-renowned Scottish Lithotriptor (Stone) Centre in Edinburgh performing minimal access and keyhole surgical techniques.

He currently works as a Consultant Urological Surgeon for London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust.

He is an Associate Professor at Plymouth University School of Medicine and Dentistry and Rila Institute of Health Sciences.

Honorary Senior Lecturer, Imperial College Medical School, London.

Programme lead for Urology for the Rila institute.

Professor Asif Raza is clinical kidney stone lead for his trust and regularly chairs the specialist stone MDT. He performs complex kidney stone operations including pcnl for larger stones. He has pioneered the use of ultra-low dose CT scans at his trust to lower radiation exposure to patients. He has an interest in Uroradiology techniques, Artificial Intelligence and Augmented reality applications and their potential role in urology in the future.

He has published widely in his field and presents audits and research at local, national, and international meetings.

Professor Asif Raza provides advice and treatment of benign prostate problems including prostate surgery including green light laser surgery and offers prostate cancer screening and investigation of raised psa. He manages general urological conditions in both men and women including urinary infections, blood in the urine, penile (circumcision) testicular problems, erection problems as well as bladder problems.
