About Mr Andrew Roche

Mr Roche qualified in Medicine at the University of Liverpool in 1999. His basic surgical training was in Queensland, Australia and Merseyside. He trained in specialist Orthopaedic units including Alder Hey Hospital and The Royal Liverpool University Hospital. Mr Roche gained special recognition by winning regional and national awards for research presented to learned societies including the national prize for the best research presented at the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He developed his interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery and Reconstruction Surgery and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr Orth) in 2010. Senior training and fellowships followed in 2011/2012 in Foot and Ankle/Sports Surgery treating many national and international athletes in rugby, football and athletics. His trauma/reconstruction training took him to The Rocky Mountain Trauma Centre, Denver, USA a large level 1 trauma centre and finally to Bristol Royal Infirmary an internationally renowned Limb Reconstruction Unit that excels in complex Foot and Ankle Surgery and Reconstruction Surgery. He completed a Masters degree (MSc) in Trauma Surgery, awarded by the University of Swansea in 2012.

His surgical practice encompasses all aspects of diagnosis and treatment of Foot and Ankle disorders. His particular specialty interests include the mechanisms of sports injuries and optimisation of rehabilitation in athletes. He also has an interest in correction and treatment of deformity around the foot and ankle - using internal fixation or external fixation techniques.
