Mr Rafal Niziol

Mr Raf Niziol is a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, with a specialist interest in head and neck cancer.

He received his medical degree from St George's Hospital, University of London in 2010 and subsequently undertook specialty training in the highly competitive environment of London. Prior to starting as a consultant, he undertook the Advanced Head and Neck Surgery Fellowship at Guy's Hospital.

His busy NHS practice at Guy’s Hospital has a reputation for undertaking highly complex ablative and reconstructive cases. However, Raf’s role as a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon also involves a comprehensive understanding and management of conditions affecting the face, jaw, mouth, and teeth.

In the private sector, Raf has dedicated his practice to Cromwell Hospital and its affiliated clinics, providing a world-class service in a setting that is used to caring for a high volume of complex head and neck free flap reconstructive cases.

Raf is dedicated to providing patient-centred treatment plans prioritising aesthetics and function, thus optimising patients’ wellbeing and quality of life. Whether managing complex surgical cases or collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, he brings a wealth of experience to his role, ensuring the highest quality of care for those entrusted to his expertise.

In addition to his clinical work, Raf has also published numerous research papers and book chapters in his field, including in head and neck cancer. He has also presented his work within both the national and international field, and has been involved in pioneering the Enhanced Recovery Pathway for head and neck cancer patients at Cromwell Hospital.
