About Mr Tomas Tickunas
His areas of expertise include hand surgery (elective and trauma) for adults and children; general plastic surgery, including correction of deformities and removal of lesions (including skin cancer); paediatric plastic surgery; and complex microvascular reconstruction, including lower limb, major trauma, hand, and chest reconstruction.
Mr Tickunas runs his NHS clinics at Queen Victoria Hospital in West Sussex and Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton. He completed Pan Thames Plastic Surgery Training Rotation in London, as well as training in Wales and Yorkshire. He has a European Diploma of Hand Surgery and completed TIG Advanced Training Post Fellowship in Hand Surgery. He also completed aesthetic surgery training in Swansea and London. Passionate about training the next generation of plastic surgeons, he has recently taken over as KSS Training Programme Director for Plastic Surgery (Kent, Surrey, and Sussex).
Mr Tickunas has a passion for perfection in surgery. In particular, he takes time to select the most appropriate procedure for his patients, taking into account patient’s views and needs. He always strives for clear discussions with his patients to develop common strategy in treatment of sometimes quite complex and challenging problems.
