Cromwell Hospital was delighted to recently host an online patient webinar entitled ‘Understanding complex endometriosis’, which was led by Mr Amer Raza, Consultant Gynaecologist and Lead of the International Centre for Endometriosis.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue, similar to the lining of your womb, starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bowel, bladder, and sometimes lungs.

It can cause a wide range of symptoms, including pelvic pain, problems with your bowels, feeling sick, and difficulty getting pregnant. It is a long-term condition that can have a significant impact on your life.

The webinar was well attended, with over 200 attendees joining from across the UK.

The multidisciplinary panel shared their how complex endometriosis is managed. They answered questions from the attendees and offered expert insight on how they work together to support patients’ wellbeing.

“Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women in the UK,” Mr Raza says. “Sharing information in an accessible manner, such as an online webinar, is important to help patients understand how complex endometriosis is managed by a multidisciplinary team.”
