Cromwell Hospital are delighted to open a new theatre and recovery space as part of their Lexham Gardens expansion.
As part of the redevelopment a new theatre space for robotic surgeries, 10 bed recovery space, and staff facilities have been created. The additional operating theatre space increases Cromwell Hospital’s theatre capacity to six and increases the recovery facilities.
The new facilities will allow more patients to be treated in a purpose-built environment, specifically created for robotic surgery. Robotic surgery offers patients several benefits such as less pain, faster recovery time, less chance of scarring and tissue loss, and less blood loss.
“I am delighted to be one of the first surgeons to use the new theatre at Cromwell Hospital. The new theatre and recovery space will benefit patients greatly and is ideal for robotic surgery.” Mr Amer Raza, Consultant Gynaecologist
“Expanding our theatre capacity to provide more patients with world-class care was extremely important to us. We are proud to open our new theatre and recovery space for the benefit for all our patients,” said Andrew Fairweather, Strategic Change and Implementation Director.
