About Dr Ankur Gulati

Dr Gulati is a highly accomplished Consultant Cardiologist with an NHS base at two well-known London Hospitals - St Thomas’ Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He provides expert care at Cromwell Hospital for all types of cardiac problems such as chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations and arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation. He offers specialist expertise in the treatment of coronary disease by angioplasty (stenting) and associated risk-factors, notably high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Having graduated in medicine from Cambridge University with triple first-class honours, his passion for cardiology was sparked during his BA (Hons) in Physiology, which provided him with a deep understanding of the cardiovascular system. His clinical skills were cemented with a prestigious Cardiology sub-internship at Harvard University, where he earned High Honours for his performance. The expert mentorship he received at Cambridge and Harvard Medical Schools set the benchmark for the exceptional patient care he strives to deliver every day.

Dr Gulati’s clinical training spans the UK’s top national centres of excellence. He was selected for competitive medical rotations at Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Cambridge) and the Queen’s Medical Centre (Nottingham). These have been followed by a six-year specialist training program across London’s leading cardiac institutions, including Barts Heart Centre, the National Heart Hospital, and the Royal Brompton Hospital. To refine his expertise further, he pursued additional fellowships in advanced coronary intervention, cardiac MRI and cardiac CT. His expansive training and experience enables him to provide cutting-edge care to patients across the full range of cardiology conditions.

As a distinguished researcher, Dr Gulati received an MD from Cambridge University, holds an International Young Investigator of the Year award, and has contributed to the medical literature with multiple publications. His evidence-based approach ensures that patients benefit from the latest validated advances in the field. With dual accreditation in both cardiology and general internal medicine, he offers a comprehensive and integrated perspective during consultations, addressing complex cases with clarity and precision. His patient feedback indicates that they appreciate his warm, sensitive and reassuring manner, which compliments his dedication to providing them with the highest quality personalised care.
