Oral rehabilitation care for patients treated for head and neck cancer, trauma, and cleft palate, including dental implant retained, and fixed and removable prostheses in collaboration with the head and neck cancer multidisciplinary team; provision of occlusal appliances as part of multidisciplinary care of patients being treated for craniomandibular/temporomandibular dysfunction; provision of mandibular advancement appliances as part of multidisciplinary care of patients being treated for sleep apnoea.

About Professor Michael Fenlon

Professor Michael Fenlon is a consultant in restorative dentistry. He qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1980, before completing specialist training in restorative dentistry at Guy’s Hospital, London.

He has subspecialised in maxillofacial prosthodontics in relation to rehabilitation of patients treated for head and neck cancer, restoring other acquired defects of the head and neck area such as trauma and drug-induced defects and developmental defects such as cleft palate.

Professor Fenlon has long experience in dental implantology, working in head and neck cancer multidisciplinary teams, cleft palate multidisciplinary teams, and working with sleep medicine teams and temporomandibular joint dysfunction teams.

Professor Fenlon’s research relates to quality of care and outcomes in rehabilitation of patients treated for head and neck cancer, outcomes, and improvements in quality of life, arising from treatment using dental implants, clinical trials, and other areas of research in the field of prosthodontics, resulting in many publications of research papers in peer reviewed scientific journals.
