About Dr Kare Tang

Dr Kare Tang is a highly skilled and accomplished consultant cardiologist with extensive training and experience in the field. Having started his medical journey in the UK, he has been practising cardiology since 2002, contributing to both the NHS and private sector.

Dr Tang's training has taken place in renowned institutions, including Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, Hammersmith Hospital in London, and Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong.

His clinical interests cover various aspects of cardiology, with particular focus on cardiac prevention and rehabilitation, heart rhythm disturbances, pacing, valvular heart diseases, hypertension management, lipid control, heart failure diagnosis and treatment, and coronary heart disease.

Dr Tang's sub-specialty lies in interventional cardiology, where he has gained extensive experience in treating coronary artery disease through percutaneous methods, including angioplasty and stenting with percutaneous coronary intervention. This advanced approach allows for effective management of coronary conditions, optimising patient outcomes.

Furthermore, he has an impressive track record in managing acutely ill patients in coronary and intensive care units. His skills encompass a range of specialised procedures, including central venous cannulation, Swan-Ganz monitoring, emergency temporary pacing, pericardiocentesis, DC cardioversion, and handling complications arising from coronary surgery and angioplasty.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Tang actively participates in ongoing medical research as a principal investigator for several major trials related to the treatment of coronary artery disease. His commitment to advancing medical knowledge underscores his dedication to improving patient care and outcomes.
